Foo Fighters and Taylor Swift both rocked London this weekend, and grunge legend Dave Grohl was definitely in the loop.

During the Foo Fighters’ Saturday night concert at London Stadium, the frontman seemed to take a subtle jab at Swift before performing “Statues.” The Nirvana alum noted that “The Eras Tour” was taking place at nearby Wembley Stadium. This elicited some boos from the audience.
“I tell you, man, you don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift,” Dave warned the jeering crowd.
However, the veteran rocker for some reason then doubled down, all but assuring that Swifties across the globe would have bad blood for him.
Grohl added, “So we like to call our tour the ‘Errors Tour.’ We’ve had more than a few eras, and more than a few fucking errors as well. Just a couple. That’s because we actually play live. What? Just saying. You guys like raw, live rock ‘n’ roll music, right? You came to the right [darn] place.”
Indeed, even jokingly implying Swift isn’t perfect will assure that Grohl will be in for a cruel summer from her hordes of obsessed fans.
Taylor Swift Fans Do Their Best to Shake Off Dave Grohl’s Remarks
Indeed, once the footage found its way to all corners of the internet, Taylor Swift fans shot back mercilessly at Dave Grohl. Many felt his remarks implying she doesn’t play live were “So High School” and should be disregarded.
“Ew and his audience booing at just the first mention of her name,” one Swiftie noted on X. “You just know that crowd is full of old men,” a second fan wrote. “I was gonna say they hate successful women but actually they probably just hate women in general. Bunch of misogynists,” a third not-at-all-bothered Taylor Swift fan added.

Meanwhile, other denizens of the internet seemed to think Dave’s remarks were all in good fun.
“After watching the video, I don’t think Dave Grohl was saying Taylor didn’t sing live. I think he was just making a joke about how when you sing live there will be errors,” one level-headed music lover wrote.
To his credit, Dave Grohl has openly praised Taylor Swift in the past. For instance, in a 2021 interview with Rolling Stone, he commended her choice to re-record her entire catalog.
It seems likely that Dave’s onstage Swift quip was a misplaced gaffe. Hopefully, he can weather the Swiftie storm.
Godspeed, Dave.
