Despite its return in June, Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival organizers announced that the 2027 music festival has already been canceled.

In a statement on Instagram, Bonnaroo organizers thanked fans for being part of an “epic” 2026 festival.
“Our hearts are filled to the brim from the weekend that we shared in June,” the organizers shared. “The Farm remains as special as ever, and for a few days, we were once again reminded of the good things in this world.”
However, the organizers then shared the bad news. “As you know, we spent a great deal of effort and money working to improve the campgrounds and Centeroo in the months leading up to the 2026 festival. That included improved drainage, 4.5 miles of new roadways, and 135 acres of new grass, all which strengthened The Farm’s resiliency to Mother Nature. With limited time to recuperate from back to back years of storms, including the heavy rainstorm on Sunday this year, The Farm, particularly the main venue, needs a break to rest and recover.”
The event’s organizers then shared that as a result of The Farm’s recovery, they have decided the festival will be taking a “much-needed” year off.
“This wasn’t an easy decision, and not one we take lightly,” they continued. “But in our hearts, we know this break will only make Bonnaroo better.”
“We hope you’ll continue radiating positivity in your community throughout the year,” they added. “And thank you for loving this festival as much as we do.”
The Festival Didn’t Happen Last Year
The decision to cancel Bannero 2027 was made after the festival took a year off in 2025.
The beloved Tennessee event’s organizers were previously criticized for its sudden cancellation in 2025 over severe weather,
Many fans pointed out it wasn’t officially canceled when rain was first forecast. Others spoke out about additional problems the event ran into, including staffing issues. There was also a lack of organization as fans exited The Farm, and infrastructure concerns.
The 2025 cancellation was notably the second rainout or flooded-grounds issue for Bonnaroo in the past few years.
