As ID’s documentary Quiet on Set continues to make headlines, Jennie Garth speaks out on working with now infamous producer Dan Schneider on the What I Like About You set.

Schneider was a key topic of the eye-opening documentary. The producer is known for creating various hit Nickelodeon series, including Drake & Josh, Zoey 101, and The Amanda Show.
However, he’s also known for being difficult and sometimes inappropriate to child actors on sets. The documentary examined his behavior as well as sexual abuse child stars went through from various Nickelodeon employees.
Schneider was also responsible for creating Jennie Garth and Amanda Byne’s hit teen sitcom What I Like About You. The show ran from 2002 to 2006 and centered around the life of a teen who was sent to live with her big sister in New York City.
Over the weekend, Garth was asked about Schneider and her response was far from friendly. “I don’t want to talk about Dan Schneider ever again in my life,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. The actress also shared that she hasn’t heard from Bynes since the documentary aired.
“I just love her,” Jennie Garth said about Bynes. “And I would love to see her at any point.”
Not long after the documentary premiered, Schneider publicly apologized for his behavior. “Me facing my past behaviors, some of which are embarrassing and that I regret,” he said. “I definitely owe some people a pretty strong apology.”
Jennie Garth’s Co-Star Amanda Bynes Doesn’t Plan to Watch ‘Quiet on Set’
As previously reported, sources revealed that Amanda Bynes doesn’t have any plans to watch the new documentary Quiet on Set.
Insiders also stated that Bynes as well as her parents Rick and Lynn were approached to participate in the documentary. However, the family decided to opt-out.
Amanda reportedly declined to participate because she claimed to not have the same experience that others who did participate in the documentary had.
Meanwhile, Amanda’s parents notably watched the documentary. They were notably saddened and disgusted by the allegations made in the four-part series.
Amanda Bynes started working at Nickelodeon in 1996. She appeared on the hit sketch comedy series All That until 2000. She moved on to have her self-titled sketch show. from 1999 to 2002.
Bynes then starred in What I Like About You with Jennie Garth. She also ended up making her theatrical debut in 2002’s Big Fat Liar.
After appearing in various big hit films, Bynes announced she was retiring from acting in 2010.
