A family celebration turned sour last week, as Wendy Williams berated caretakers after her son Kevin Jr.’s college graduation.

The We In Miami podcast captured the incident on camera. Video shows the 60-year-old former talk show host yelled at her team. The caretakers allegedly left Williams’ mobility scooter in the middle of the street as they left a graduation dinner in Miami.
“They got the wrong car, so I knocked on the door and it was the totally wrong car,” Williams explained to the camera. “They left my scooter as they walked over there… They just left my s**t out there.”
Williams added, “They wanna work for me, that’s what their supposed to be doing. They’re making money from me, get the god**mn car.”
Wendy Williams was diagnosed with early on-set dementia in May 2023.
The former talk show host and her family—including father Thomas Williams Sr. and sister Wanda Finnie—were all together at Kevin Jr.’s graduation from Florida International University (FIU).
Williams did use a mobility scooter at the ceremony, but according We In Miami host Stunt Lifestyle, she wanted to walk out of the celebratory dinner on her own volition.
“So Kevin, her son, actually picked the wheelchair up and walked it outside the restaurant and Wendy walked,” he explained. “I think, according to Wendy’s family, she was really upset about the disorganization and the lack of care… It was just really messy, so she was really upset and her family was really upset, too.”
In November, Williams’ guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, revealed that she is “cognitively impaired and permanently incapacitated” by her battle with early on-set dementia. She was diagnosed in May 2023, less than a year after her eponymous talk show ended.
Williams has mostly stayed out of the public eye since her diagnosis. Her son’s graduation was her second sighting this month in Florida. On Sunday, Dec. 15, she was spotted at a much happier outing to Sho’nuff Oysters in Fort Lauderdale.
