Last Thursday in Houston, police arrested a Frontier Airlines pilot on an aircraft just before takeoff… and it was caught on tape. Authorities have identified the pilot as 45-year-old Seymour Walker, according to local media reports.
“Frontier Airlines can confirm that on Aug. 1, 2024, at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston (IAH) a crew member was taken into custody by local law enforcement,” Frontier Airlines said in a statement, per Business Insider.
“The activity occurred prior to the start of boarding for Flight 3195 scheduled from IAH to Dallas Forth Worth (DFW),” they continued.
“A replacement crew member was not immediately available and therefore the flight was canceled. Impacted customers were offered the option of a full refund, credit, or re-accommodation on the next available Frontier flight later that evening.”
The airline announced that impacted passengers received a $100 flight voucher and, when necessary, overnight accommodations.
Of course, footage of the wanted pilot getting arrested found its way to X (formerly Twitter). In the clip, the pilot has his hands handcuffed behind his back. He’s peacefully escorted from the aircraft to an awaiting police vehicle.
The Internet Reacts to Footage of a Pilot Getting Arrested Right Before Take Off
Meanwhile, denizens of the internet shared a range of emotions once the footage of Walker allegedly being taken into police custody went viral.
“Wow, talk about “the walk of shame” how embarrassing and humiliating was that for him,” one X user wrote in part. “Why do they got to come to his job and arrest him and make a huge scene. Couldn’t they find him after work. That’s crazy,” another insanely sensitive lover of the English language added.
However, other X users felt authorities did the right thing.
“They had to take him,” one user insisted. “If he is alleged to committed domestic violence, then he is not fit to fly passengers. Not mentally fit if he will commit possible domestic violence. Passengers come first. Safety first. Not the pilot.”
Of course, other onlookers simply found the incongruous nature of the scene hilarious. “It’s: CATCH ME IF YOU CAN 2,” one X user quipped.
‘“Tower, Frontier 242 ready for 26 left, uh wait a minute tower…… uh well get back to you.”‘, another user joked.
