Taylor Swift recently resumed her Eras tour which is currently in Australia. But amid the tour, the pop star’s father has found herself in the middle of some controversy. Swift’s father Scott, is under investigation for assaulting a paparazzi according to a new report from TMZ.
“New South Wales Police Media Unit tells TMZ … cops there are investigating an alleged assault. [The assault] was reported to them on Sydney’s North Shore very early Tuesday morning local time. This after a photographer named Ben McDonald filed a complaint claiming just that,” TMZ wrote.
“We’re told police there were informed that a 71-year-old man — believed to be Scott — allegedly got into a physical confrontation with a 51-year-old man. [The confrontation happened] at Neutral Bay Wharf at about 2 AM Tuesday as he was exiting the area.”
Taylor Swift Dealt With Stalker in 2023
Violence is never justifiable. But it is understandable why Swift’s father could be feeling so on edge. His daughter recently discovered she had a stalker. And he is a man who had “frequently” visited her home in New York City. So frequently that it made neighbors uncomfortable.
“A man who numerous witnesses have said frequently waits outside or nearby Taylor Swift’s Manhattan townhouse was arrested. [It was} near her home for open warrants. [he admitted] he was there to see the pop star, according to a law enforcement source familiar with the investigation,” CNN reports.
“Police responded to repeated calls from neighbors of Swift. A disorderly man had been hanging outside her building in Tribeca and refusing to leave the area, the source said.”
Travis Kelce Reveals Nickname For Swift’s Dad
Swift began dating Kansas City Chiefs superstar tight end Travis Kelce in 2023. The couple are two of the best to ever do it in their respective careers. So the coverage has been massive. On a recent episode of his and his brother Jason’s podcast, “New Heights,” the star tight end revealed his nickname for the pop star’s dad.
“We’ve already talked about how they kind of know each other from the Philly days,” Travis said when discussing how Taylor’s dad already knew Chiefs head coach Andy Reid.
“Scott Swift — shout-out to Big Scott. Him and Andy are good friends.”
