Hailey Baldwin wants to make it clear how she feels about her husband Justin Bieber‘s ex Selena Gomez. The model has chosen a low-key way to make her feelings known. It’s actually a very sweet gesture of support.
Baldwin wants it to be known that there are no hard feelings between her and the “Look At Me Now” singer, despite their intertwined romantic histories. Bieber and Baldwin reconnected shortly after Gomez and Bieber officially ended their on-again-off-again relationship in 2018. One whirlwind romance later, the model and the pop superstar were married a few months later in a New York courthouse. They followed it up with a more traditional wedding in October 2019. Such a quick jump into a new relationship can throw people off, and rumors swirled about Bieber’s lingering connection to Gomez and Baldwin’s possible reactions. In answer to those rumors, Baldwin has chosen a subtle way to show her goodwill towards the former Disney star: she has been liking Gomez’s Instagram posts.
Though Baldwin’s using social media to support her husband’s ex, the supermodel has also railed against those types of online platforms. Speaking with British Vogue, Baldwin called out social media’s toxic breeding ground of “people creating false drama between women and trying to put women up against each other and create these narratives that are just… toxic.” Though Baldwin didn’t name names, it’s no secret that she and Gomez have been repeatedly accused of feuding over Bieber. Instead of watching social media spread fake rumors and stir up trouble, Baldwin would rather see a revolution. “I think there needs to be more people with platforms coming together and saying to each other, ‘let’s kill the conversation, let’s kill the fake drama, let’s squash all these things, let’s move on from stuff,” before adding, “Let’s not give people a reason to fuel fire and create drama and being rude to each other.'”
Other tabloids have tried to imply a torrid love triangle in the past. Gossip Cop busted a story from RadarOnline claiming Baldwin caught Bieber texting Gomez. Life & Style also published a story about a phony feud between the Biebers and Gomez, purporting that Bieber and Baldwin wished Gomez would leave them alone after Gomez released her single “Lose You To Love Me,” which was supposedly about Bieber. Though it may have been an uncomfortable song for Baldwin and Bieber to listen to, neither have publicly acknowledged any awkward feelings they may have towards the song or Gomez.
Whatever they go through, Bieber and Baldwin always approach their problems together. Though Gomez is Bieber’s ex, Baldwin still takes the time to make sure she has both of their support. This is a class act on Baldwin’s part.
