Whoopi Goldberg is not trying to hire Tiffany Trump as a co-host on “The View,” despite a made-up tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this fabricated claim. We’re told it’s simply “not true.”
According to the National Enquirer, “Goldberg is stumping for Tiffany,” and if the show’s moderator “has her way, the president’s daughter will soon be joining her on ABC’s all-gal gabfest.” The often disproven publication claims Goldberg is “begging producers to tap Tiffany as a panelist to boost the struggling daytime show’s ratings.” A so-called “tipster” is quoted telling the supermarket tabloid, “Whoopi knows the value of getting a Trump on their show. She doesn’t know what Tiffany’s views on politics are, but she would certainly defend her father. Plus, she is young and beautiful, and even Whoopi knows the show needs more of that if it’s going to survive.”
The repeatedly discredited magazine further alleges, “Whoopi’s plan may be working. Producers are impressed that the notoriously outspoken liberal is showing her business savvy and is willing to listen to different viewpoints, even if her co-hosts aren’t.” The same seemingly misinformed or possibly manufactured “set spy” further contends, “Whoopi knows that bringing Tiffany on would create a lot of attention for the show… She can’t understand why other people behind the scenes don’t see it the same way.”
Here is what seemingly is going on. As Gossip Cop reported in February, Goldberg defended Tiffany Trump on “The View” after she was snubbed at New York Fashion Week by people who refused to sit next to her presumably because of her dad, President Donald Trump. Goldberg then said on the air to Tiffany, “I don’t want to talk about your dad, but, girl, I will sit next to you.” She also noted, “Nobody’s talking politics…She doesn’t want to talk about her dad. She’s looking at the fashion!” Tiffany later tweeted, “Thank you @WhoopiGoldberg I’d love to sit with you too!”
It appears the Enquirer took that incident and exchange to concoct its latest fabrication. An impeccable Goldberg and “The View” source assures Gossip Cop the tabloid’s tale is “not true.” She is not pursuing Tiffany for a co-host job.
Of course, we’re not surprised by the magazine’s made-up article. Two years ago, the publication similarly tried to peddle that Chelsea Clinton was offered to join “The View,” but turned the show down. That claim was 100 percent untrue, and so is the latest about Goldberg pursuing Tiffany as a co-host.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
