As painful as it is to admit, Modern Family is coming to an end after 11 seasons and ten years on the air.

Although there are still a few episodes left to air of the hit series, which is a mockumentary focusing around the wacky relationship of an extended family, it seems actress Sarah Hyland has already starting making her departure.

Hyland, who portrays the eldest Dunphy daughter, Haley, has been absent from four out of the eleven episodes that have aired so fair. Fans have missed the starlet, who has been a main character since the first season. A recent interview in an Inquistir article with Hyland explained a potential reason for the character's absence - Haley now has the responsibility of caring for her two twin babies with longtime beau Dylan.

While that answer might satisfy some, there is still one left to be answered: Where was Haley during her grandpa's funeral? Seeing as it took place in the Dunphy's living room, it would have made sense for Haley to attend. Yet, she was absent. Maybe an issue with the twins arose?

With the final three episodes still being filmed, there is plenty of time for one last adventure for Haley.

The series finale is scheduled for April 8th.
