A tabloid report claiming Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are faking a happy marriage is completely false. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the phony story. We’ve learned there’s no truth to it.
The spouses of nearly 13 years frequently flaunt their love on social media and at awards shows, but according to OK!, they’re just pretending to be happy together. “They’re not getting along at all and have even been sleeping in separate bedrooms and spending little if any couple time together,” says an alleged insider, who further contends they’re at odds over supposed jealousy issues and Kidman’s desire for more kids.
“They feel the need to act like they’re so in love for the cameras and pretend everything’s fine,” adds the questionable source. “It’s like their image matters more than actually fixing the problems in their marriage.” The supposed tipster goes on to say that Kidman has been “nagging” Urban for more children, but he feels they “have their hands full with two kids,” and it “would be too hectic balancing another baby and their busy careers.”
Another supposed issue between the spouses is Urban’s so-called “flirtation” with 25-year-old singer Julia Michaels, who opened for him on tour earlier this year. “Keith is an attractive man — and women are always throwing themselves at him,” says the seemingly phony insider. “Nicole has every right to feel threatened, but her accusations are driving him insane.”
Urban also has his own bouts of jealousy, according to the suspicious source, who claims the country star was upset when his wife opened up in a recent interview about feeling protected during her marriage to Tom Cruise. “Nicole finds Keith’s jealousy totally off base, but he won’t let it go, and the constant fighting has them at a breaking point,” adds the so-called “insider.” From there, the alleged tipster speculates the spouses are gearing up for a battle over money and custody of their two daughters.
None of this is remotely accurate. For starters, Kidman has already stated in multiple interviews that she’s done having kids. In January, the actress told People magazine she and her husband would have had more kids if they had met at a younger age, but they’re happy with two at this point. In a separate interview with “Entertainment Tonight,” Kidman shook her head and said “no” when asked if she planned to expand her family. “I think I’m past that point now. But I’m very thrilled with what I have,” said the actress.
Additionally, Gossip Cop already called out Woman’s Day Australia last month for falsely claiming Urban was “getting cozy” with Michaels on tour. As we noted at the time, the young singer only accompanied Urban on the Australian leg of his tour, during which he was joined by Kidman and their two daughters.
This past December, Gossip Cop busted OK!‘s sister publication, Star, for wrongly reporting Urban was upset about Kidman’s interview in which she discussed her marriage to Cruise. The magazine conveniently left out the part of the interview in which the actress said she’s “reluctant to talk about” her former marriage “because I’m married now to the man who is my great love, and it almost feels disrespectful.”
Despite the tabloid’s new report being based on old claims we’ve already debunked, Gossip Cop still checked in with a rep for Urban, who tells us on the record that this latest article is similarly false. The country star’s spokesperson adds, “I just don’t understand from whom and where they get this stuff.” OK! wants its readers to believe that the love Kidman and Urban exhibit for each other isn’t real, but the notion is unfounded and untrue.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
