Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are not on a “honeymoon.” While it’s true the couple has recently been on vacation, a report claiming the trip has to do with secret nuptials is false. Gossip Cop can bust the story.
“Miley & Liam Lap It Up On Aussie Honeymoon,” reads a headline in the new issue of Heat. Alongside photos of the couple at a beach, the tabloid writes, “These two look like they’re filming a swimwear advert. But if reports of a secret wedding are to be believed, this beach trip is something much more exciting than that. It’s Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s honeymoon!”
According to the gossip magazine, the pair may have “married in a private ceremony in Byron Bay, Australia.” Though Chris Hemsworth said last week that Cyrus and his brother are “not officially” married, the outlet uses that to suggest they “enjoyed something of a more unconventional ceremony.” But the publication really doesn’t have anything to offer to substantiate its assertions.
While one picture of Cyrus and Hemsworth is captioned “#Honeymoongoals,” another states, “Congrats, Miley?” Clearly the tabloid is unsure of the couple’s status, so let Gossip Cop set the record straight once again. As we already reported last week, Cyrus and Hemsworth were not secretly married during their New Year’s trip to Australia. And photos of the couple splashing around in the surf are certainly not evidence of a honeymoon.
In fact, Cyrus and Hemsworth also spent part of January in Australia back in 2016, so there is no reason to read into this particular visit. Hemsworth returns Down Under this time of year to celebrate his birthday with his family. Such trips have nothing to do with secretly tying the knot and honeymooning.
Furthermore, a simple Google search shows Heat isn’t exactly a knowledgeable resource when it comes to the duo. In 2016, the British tabloid said Cyrus and Hemsworth were ready to start a family. A supposed “insider” was even quoted as saying, “They’re already trying and could even be pregnant already – a Christmas baby would be perfect.” Of course, a “Christmas baby” never happened.
So in early 2017, the magazine asked online, “Are Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth going to have a baby?” And then just two months ago, in November, the outlet wondered, “Is Miley Cyrus PREGNANT?” (See screengrabs below.) The publication was again wrong in both cases. So it’s no wonder Heat is now grasping at straws to spin their entirely normal vacation as a honeymoon. Otherwise, they’d probably just embarrass themselves with another phony baby story.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
