The body cam footage, which the Maitland Police Department released, shows Jordan at the wheel of a sports car, which was struck on the side of a train track. The responding officer is heard telling Jordan and his female passenger to leave the vehicle since a train was approaching.
“I know, that’s why I’m trying to get the f— out of here,” Jordan is heard telling the officer.
The officer then told Jordan that the car was “buried” and that they were “literally stuck.” Jordan exited the vehicle and told the officer that he had ” gotten discombobulated” and taken a wrong turn, which is when he ended up on the tracks.
However, things quickly took a turn, and the Traitors alum tried to name-drop his famous father to get out of the situation. “I’m Marcus Jordan,” he told the officer. “I’m Michael Jordan’s son.”
He then stated that he wasn’t doing anything wrong. “I’m just trying to get home,” he continued. “And I made a wrong turn. Ok?”
Also during his conversation with the officer, Marcu said, “The last thing I wanted to do is put my car on the tracks, obviously, it’s a $330,000 car. Why would I want to be on the tracks?”
The officer then asked Jordan if he had drunk any alcohol or used any substance before getting behind the wheel. Michael Jordan’s son admitted he had “a little bit” to drink, but it was “under the legal limit.”
Marcus Jordan Fails Field Sobriety Test, Attempts to Resist Arrest
After admitting to drinking, Marcus Jordan did a field sobriety test.
An officer asked him on a “scale of 0-10,” with zero being “sober,” what number did he believe he was on. He responded, “3,” prompting the officer to handcuff him.
When the officer stated they believed he had “too much to drink,” the basketball legend’s son declared, “I disagree with that, sir, but whatever you say … I hear you, but I disagree.”
Additional body cam footage shows Jordan arguing with multiple officers after he was handcuffed and asked to get into a police vehicle. He repeatedly told the law enforcement officials that he was “not drunk” and his “opinion was different” from theirs.
In the police report obtained by PEOPLE, the officers noticed Jordan’s eyes were “bloodshot and glassy” while they were speaking to him at the scene. It was also reported that Jordan claimed his blood alcohol content level was under the legal .08. However, he was unable to finish any of the three field sobriety tests conducted on him.
The responding officer also noticed an “odor of an alcoholic beverage was getting stronger” as Jordan spoke. They also noticed Jordan would “get agitated and irritated quickly” with them.
Just after Jordan was arrested, officers found a white substance in a small bag in his pocket. It tested positive for cocaine. Jordan’s bond was set for $4,000.
