The man allegedly suffered cardiac arrest from the excitement of his $4 million winnings. This occurred at Marina Bay Sands Casino in Singapore. Immediately, casino operators and security officers rushed to provide him with the proper care.
A horrific video of the incident has surfaced online, with many individuals claiming the man died from a heart attack.
However, according to casino.org, “Many social media reports suggested the man died, but those reports were inaccurate and the man is recovering and is expected to enjoy his riches once back to full health.”
Man Collapses From Heart Attack After Winning $4 Million at Singapore Casino
It’s unclear which of the various reports are accurate and whether the man survived the heart attack. In fact, many individuals on Reddit have been weighing the possibilities.
“Great find but I still don’t buy it that he lived,” one user said. “A heart attack and cardiac arrest are very different things. Heart attacks are often survived but if a person goes into arrest (heart completely stops) it’s overwhelmingly their time of death. With this guy laying (presumably) unconscious on the floor I don’t think he made it…”
Another user responded directly to the above comment.
“My wife went into cardiac arrest last year, and was unconscious, going through full agonal breathing and the whole nine yards,” they wrote. “I found her in time, performed CPR, and once fire and EMTs got to my place, they were able to get her heart started again.
“You’re right that cardiac arrests are often fatal, especially when folks are alone and far from medical help,” they continued. “But depending on how your heart is post-arrest, and assuming they get to you fast enough, these are survivable.”
Regardless of whether he survived, the incident itself is a tragic story. Hopefully, both he and his family live to enjoy their newfound riches.
