In the third episode of the four-part Lifetime documentary series The Life and Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson, the 68-year-old Kardashian matriarch opened up about still mourning Nicole nearly three decades later.
“You never get over losing a friend that way,” an emotional Jenner admits in the series.
“And I think I pack it down so far deep inside, you know? It’s been 30 years,” she explained. “It’s hard. [It’s] one of the hardest days I’ve ever experienced.”
In 1994, Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman were found murdered outside her Brentwood, California home. Nicole, a mother of two, was 35 years old. She had been married to O.J. Simpson, who passed away from cancer earlier this year, for seven years, and they shared two children, Justin and Sydney.
Originally arrested for the murders, O.J. Simpson was later acquitted of all charges in what became famously known as the “Trial of the Century.” During this trial, Jenner’s ex-husband, Robert Kardashian Sr., served as Simpson’s defense attorney. Although acquitted in criminal court, O.J. was found liable in a 1997 civil suit related to the deaths and subsequently served jail time for unrelated crimes.
Kris Jenner Also Recalled Nicole Brown Simpson Helping a Friend in Her Last Days
Elsewhere in the series, Kris Jenner recalled how in her final days, Nicole Brown Simpson concerned herself with her friend Faye Resnick’s sobriety.
“Right before Nicole died, two days before, I relapsed. She put me into treatment. I was stressed out beyond belief,” Resnick recalled in the docuseries.
“Nicole said, ‘Okay, we are going to go visit Faye and make sure that somebody’s there for her every day.’ So she made a schedule for us,” Jenner recalled.
The reality star added, “I remember, it was Nicole’s day, and Nicole and I spoke. She said, ‘Faye’s having a good day, I’m leaving. Your day is tomorrow.’ That was the last time I spoke to her.”
“She loved me. She wanted me to be healthy,” Resnick added.
Lifetime’s four-part series, The Life and Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson, marks the 30th anniversary of Nicole’s tragic death. It includes interviews with over 50 individuals—such as her sisters, family members, and friends—alongside previously unreleased archival footage.
Rather than focusing on O.J. and his connection to the crime, the series delves into Nicole’s perspective and her experiences with domestic violence.
