Is Kourtney Kardashian furious over Scott Disick‘s house-flipping reality show? That’s what one tabloid wants readers to believe, but Gossip Cop can debunk the story. She’s actually publicly expressed support for the project.
“Kourtney Flips Over Scott’s New Show,” reads a headline in the latest issue of Star. In the wake of Disick confirming his long-planned series is finally going to air, the magazine claims Kardashian is “fuming.” It’s alleged the show is Disick’s “way of building a life for himself away from the Kardashians,” and that the mother of his three kids won’t appear on the program.
A so-called “insider” is quoted as saying, “Kourtney finds it pretty rich that Scott used his ‘KUWTK’ training to land himself this role, then exclude[s] her from any part of it. If this show does wind up being successful and lucrative, the least he could do is cut her in on the profits.” There are number of problems with these claims, including a factual error. The outlet refers to “Scott’s new show for Bravo,” but People specifically reported last week that this is an “E! reality show.”
Star also doesn’t tell readers that when Disick’s house-flipping show was first revealed more than a year ago, he was developing the project with Kris Jenner as a producer. Obviously then, it’s not about separating himself from the Kardashian-Jenner reality world. In fact, Disick will be a part of the new season of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” which premieres Sunday. Only two days ago, the official “KUWTK” Twitter account featured a new teaser clip with Disick.
As for Kardashian’s feelings about her ex’s own show, Disick has her backing, contrary to what this article claims. Far from being furious with him, Kardashian just told People this week that she and Disick “really try to have a good relationship.” She went on to say about his new series, “I’m excited!… He puts his own spin on the houses, so I think it’s amazing. I can’t wait to see it.” That goes directly against the narrative presented by the tabloid.
Of course, this publication has struggled in the past to report on the exes accurately. Gossip Cop recently observed that a full year had passed since the magazine peddled a story claiming Kardashian wanted Disick to “stay away” from their kids. Since that bogus tale was published, the former couple has continued to co-parent together. And now Kardashian’s own comments prove that they remain unified and supportive of one another.
Conclusion: Star claims Kardashian is “fuming” over Disick’s upcoming reality show, but she is on the record saying the exact opposite. Gossip Cop is putting more value in her comments as a primary source than the tabloid’s anonymous and unidentifiable “insider.” The article also features a glaring factual error, and the magazine has a documented history of spreading provably false claims about the former couple, much like this new one. For these reasons, this rumor gets a zero on our fact-or-fiction meter.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
