Kit Harington is not fighting to save his marriage to Rose Leslie following his recent stint in rehab, despite an inaccurate tabloid report. Gossip Cop can correct the story. We’ve learned the couple’s relationship isn’t in jeopardy despite the actor’s struggles.
Last month, the “Game of Thrones” star checked out of a wellness facility in Connecticut after spending some time there receiving treatment for personal issues. Woman’s Day is alleging Harington has yet “another battle” now that he’s back home in London as he’s trying to get his marriage of one year “back on track.”
“Kit got his act together in no small part to save things with Rose,” a supposed source tells the outlet. “He knows now more than ever that he needs to stay sober and focused, or risk her walking away.” The so-called “insider” goes on to say there’s only so much Leslie will “put up with,” so the actor’s main motivation “to stay off booze” is to “keep his marriage intact.”
The magazine’s take on the situation simply isn’t correct. Harington celebrated his first wedding anniversary with Leslie upon checking out of treatment last month. People magazine, a much more reliable source for celebrity news than Woman’s Day, reported last week that the spouses “are enjoying the summer, spending time with family and friends. And Rose seems happy that he is back in London.” The reputable publication added, “It seemed their focus was just getting Kit feeling better. And he does look better. Kit and Rose seem happy.”
Gossip Cop also checked in with a source close to the situation, who wasn’t able to speak on the record, but tells us Harington’s wife has been supportive throughout his personal difficulties. We’re assured the actor’s marriage hasn’t been negatively impacted by his recent troubles. The spouses have remained united, and all claims otherwise are baseless.
Unfortunately, this wouldn’t be the first time we’ve had to debunk nonexistent drama between the happy couple. Last year, Gossip Cop called out OK! for falsely claiming Harington was so depressed over “Game of Thrones” ending that it was causing problems in his marriage. The bogus story was concocted to capitalize on the conclusion of the HBO series, but there was no truth to it.
This time around, Woman’s Day has decided to exploit Harington’s recent stay in rehab by coming up with a phony article concerning the state of his marriage. There’s no link between the two.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
