Kendall Jenner never played her dad Caitlyn Jenner in a movie, despite a report from a year ago claiming the model was going to star in a biopic about the transgender former Olympian. Gossip Cop exclusively debunked the claim this time last year. Time has proven it false.
On May 11, 2017, RadarOnline falsely claimed that Caitlyn’s memoir, The Secrets of My Life, was being adapted into a film with her daughter in the lead role. An alleged insider told the site that the model was taking acting lessons to prepare for the supposed project. Tellingly, no Hollywood trade or reputable publication had reported about a biopic being in the works.
Shortly after the story was published, Gossip Cop spoke to Kendall’s spokesperson, who told us on the record that the model had no intention of playing her father in a movie, or getting into acting at all. “It’s false,” said the rep. “She’s a model, not an actress.” We also checked in with Caitlyn’s spokesperson, who had “no idea” about any plans to turn her memoir into a movie.
In the 12 months since Gossip Cop debunked the story, Kendall has not starred in a big-screen version of The Secrets of My Life, nor is such a project in any stage of development. Instead of starring in movies, Jenner has maintained a successful modeling career over the past year, even earning the title of highest-paid model in 2017. She’s also continued working on her Kendall + Kylie clothing line with her sister, as well as appearing on her family’s reality show, “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”
Unfortunately, RadarOnline has continued to prove it knows very little about the model’s career plans. Gossip Cop busted the blog in October for wrongly reporting that Jenner was quitting “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” and moving to Paris for her modeling career. Obviously, neither of those things occurred. Shortly before that, we called out the blog’s sister outlet, Star, for making up a similarly phony story about the model refusing to appear on her family’s reality show any longer.
Meanwhile, RadarOnline has no more insight when it comes to the former Olympian’s career plans. Gossip Cop corrected the site last year after it wrongly reported that Caitlyn wanted to become a fashion model. It’s also worth noting, all of the false stories cited above were based on information from anonymous “sources,” while we had reps go on the record to dismiss every single one.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
