Jamie Foxx did not dump Katie Holmes on her 40th birthday, despite a provably false tabloid report. Gossip Cop can debunk the bogus story. The couple is still together.
According to Life & Style, the actor decided to end his romance with the actress just as she was about to celebrate her 40th birthday on December 18. An alleged insider tells the magazine, “Katie and Jamie are done. She really thought Jamie was going to propose for her birthday, but instead he dumped her.”
The outlet’s supposed source further contends that Foxx broke up with the actress over the phone, adding, “Jamie called Katie up and told her he needed space. He was pretty blunt.” As for the reason why the actor supposedly called off their relationship, the tipster says he grew tired of Holmes’ reluctance to be more open about their romance.
“He told Katie he didn’t think she would ever really be ready to commit, that he couldn’t wait any longer and this was the best thing for both of them,” adds the questionable source. The unreliable magazine goes on to say that Holmes was shocked to learn that Foxx wanted a break, as she was hoping “that an engagement ring would accompany her milestone birthday.” “She sobbed and asked Jamie to wait a little bit longer when he broke things off,” adds the seemingly nonexistent source.
Every aspect of the magazine’s phony report is provably untrue. Holmes and Foxx celebrated her 40th birthday at Serendipity in New York City, where they were joined by the actress’s mother, Kathleen. Life & Style‘s latest cover story, which seems to have been written in advance of Holmes’ birthday, is a complete fabrication.
People magazine, a much more reliable celebrity news outlet than Life & Style, noted this week that Holmes and Foxx’s relationship seems to be getting more serious. The couple has been spotted on more date nights this year than at any other point in their secretive relationship. The reputable publication further noted, “They are clearly not as concerned about keeping their relationship private.”
Additionally, a source close to Holmes tells Gossip Cop that the outlet’s article is simply made-up. Unfortunately, that’s not too surprising. We called out the magazine last year for falsely claiming that Holmes was pregnant with Foxx’s baby. That never happened. In February of this year, the tabloid dropped that premise and instead reported that Holmes and Foxx had just “decided” to have a baby together. That wasn’t true either.
The tabloid’s many stories about the couple are both false and inconsistent. As for this latest report, it’s very poorly timed. Foxx didn’t dump Holmes on her birthday. The actor celebrated the actress’s big day right alongside her.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
