Did Jennifer Aniston invite Brad Pitt to her 50th birthday party in February? That’s the claim in one of this week’s tabloids. Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we can exclusively set the record straight.
According to Heat, the actress is organizing a star-studded bash to celebrate turning 50 in February, and at the top of the guest list is her ex-husband, who “has already RSVP’d with a big, fat ‘Yes.'” An alleged insider tells the magazine that Aniston is tired of hiding their friendship, and “wants it out in the open that she and Brad are back in touch and cannot wait to see the look on everyone’s faces when he turns up at her party.”
The supposed source adds, “He’s been told about the party and promised Jen he’ll be there, barring a catastrophe. Brad agrees there’s no need for their friendship to be under the radar anymore and he’s touched that she wants to make this point on such a special occasion.” The questionable tipster goes on to say that Angelina Jolie is bound to be annoyed, “but neither Brad nor Jen really care what she thinks.”
Although it’s very possible that Aniston will throw a big party to celebrate her 50th birthday next year, Gossip Cop can confirm that Pitt won’t be there. Despite what the magazine’s anonymous and untraceable “source” claims, a rep for the actress tells us on the record that the tabloid’s story is “made-up.”
The idea that the ex-spouses have rekindled a close friendship simply isn’t accurate. Aniston’s good friend Portia de Rossi recently confirmed that the ex-spouses “haven’t seen each other” in a long time. People magazine similarly reported earlier this year that Aniston and Pitt “haven’t seen each other in ages.”
It’s also worth noting, Heat has trouble keeping track of its phony narratives. In April, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for falsely claiming that Pitt had “betrayed” Aniston by supposedly starting a relationship with MIT professor Neri Oxman. The magazine said at the time that the ex-spouses had rekindled a romance, but Pitt dumped his ex-wife for Oxman. Nothing about the story was remotely true, and this latest article makes no mention of the alleged drama.
Meanwhile, Gossip Cop called out the magazine in July for wrongly reporting that Aniston and Pitt were teaming up for a romantic comedy. The two don’t have a movie in the works. This latest article is more nonsense from the unreliable outlet. UPDATE: Since November, Pitt and Aniston have been in touch and it appears he’s been invited to her birthday party.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
