On Wednesday, June 5, the 33-year-old British model, expecting her second child with boyfriend Philip Payne, clapped back at body shamers.
While sharing photos of herself on Instagram walking in Cupshe’s runway show during Miami Swim Week, Lawrence revealed the hurtful comments about her body.
“Imagine body shaming a stranger on the internet,” she wrote in a caption in the first shot of her on the catwalk.
“That’s 6 months pregnant walking in Miami Swim week more proud of her body than ever after TTC,” she continued.
She even dropped some screenshots of the not-so-kind comments she got.
The comments included messages like, “Calling her a model is a travesty to those who take care of themselves and look beautiful,” and “PLEASE cover up.”
Another comment added, “This is something that shouldn’t be normalized.” Yet another rude remark read, “Seriously, why would you do this?”
Iskra Lawrence Claimed She Only Found Two Positive Comments About Her Pregnant Runway Turn
Lawrence concluded the post with two screenshots showcasing positive comments about her “glowing” appearance.
“I found two kind comments out of hundreds,” she added tellingly.
In her caption for the series of shots, Lawrence expressed disbelief that people would take the time to body shame a pregnant woman.
“I’m still in disbelief that in 2024 (and with everything going on in the world) that fat shaming a pregnant woman seemed like the best use of your time?” she noted.
Undeterred by the trolling, the star responded in the comments section, expressing her desire to share the video of her walk. “I felt so darn confident and proud doing it with my baby girl bumping 🥹🥹🥹,” she insisted.
Lawrence also shared the post on her Instagram Stories, addressing the “haters” by stating that their comments “only motivates me to show up and be more confident and prove all bodies are worthy and enough.”
She expressed her excitement to share the video of her walk, highlighting her love for her Cupshe swimsuit. Lawrence also conveyed her gratitude to her supporters for their encouraging comments on her post.
“the comment section of this post is like the worlds biggest group hug,” she wrote. “Thank you for showing up with love.”
Lawrence and her partner are already proud parents to their 4-year-old son, Alpha. In April, she dished on Instagram that their family is expanding and they’re excitedly gearing up to become a party of four.
