George Clooney is not ending his marriage to Amal Clooney, despite a completely false tabloid report claiming the spouses are headed for a $500 million divorce and custody battle over their twins. Gossip Cop can debunk the bogus story. The happy couple isn’t on the verge of a split.
According to Life & Style, however, the spouses of four-and-a-half years have been constantly fighting over their kids, fame and clashing personalities, and it’s gotten to the point where the actor told his wife “their relationship is over.” A supposed source tells the magazine, “These two look great together, but they were never a great match. Pretty quickly after Ella and Alexander’s birth, they began to fight about how and where to raise the kids. George wants to be back in LA full time while Amal prefers Europe.”
The alleged insider further contends that George has been struggling “to give up his old bachelor ways,” and his wife often accuses him of being “selfish and fame-hungry.” “She’s questioned his motives and told him he should be more political — that he should do more with his life than just act and direct and hang out in Hollywood,” adds the suspicious tipster, who goes on to say that George has fought back by telling Amal she’s “spoiled and stuck-up.”
The seemingly nonexistent source further maintains that the Clooneys have been to couple’s counseling and “a marriage boot camp” to save their marriage, but “it ended up doing more harm than good.” The “insider” goes on to say that being an attorney, Amal may “play dirty if they decide to divorce,” which means she’ll go after her husband’s $500 million fortune and custody of their kids. “A divorce is bound to happen. George and Amal have run their course as a couple, and it’s time to move on.”
It’s worth noting, the magazine claims in its phony story that the spouses have been “living separate lives” and haven’t been spotted together since December. This is provably untrue. Earlier this month, George and Amal were photographed on a romantic date night at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Hollywood. Just last week, the Clooneys attended Jennifer Aniston’s 50th birthday party.
Let’s also take a look at Life & Style‘s track record when it comes to accurately reporting about the couple. Back in October, Gossip Cop called out the tabloid for publishing a bogus story about Amal “dumping” George on their fourth anniversary. That didn’t happen. Last June, the unreliable outlet claimed the Clooneys were getting a divorce while having a third baby on the way. They haven’t split or had another child.
The tabloid’s latest article is filled with inaccuracies, and the magazine has gotten countless stories about the Clooneys wrong in the past. Still, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the actor, who assures us the couple’s marriage is going strong. There’s simply no truth to the publication’s tale of marital drama.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
