Is Amal Clooney grossed out by the large beard George Clooney recently grew and demanding that he shave it off? That’s the ridiculous claim in one of this week’s tabloids. Gossip Cop has learned it’s totally untrue.
According to the National Enquirer, the human rights lawyer is so put off by George’s bushy new beard that she issued him an ultimatum: “Lose the beard – or lose your privileges with me!” An alleged insider tells the outlet, “She thinks George’s scruff ages him by decades and makes him look more like a lumberjack than the movie star she married.”
The supposed source goes on to say George has no intention of shaving, and “even joked to Amal that he wants to let it grow wild like his buddy David Letterman, who’s been compared to Santa Claus. When George said that, she was appalled! It’s to the point where she doesn’t even want to hug or kiss him.” The magazine then arbitrarily drags the couple’s twins into the story by saying they “love” their dad’s beard because they get to “pull on it and twist it into corkscrews, and he loves to make them squeal by tickling their cheeks with it.” The suspicious tipster concludes, “It’s made for a bit of a hair-raising family standoff.”
The magazine’s article is simply absurd. For starters, George appears to have grown his beard for the upcoming movie Good Morning, Midnight, in which he plays a lonely scientist secluded in the arctic. Still, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the situation, who confirms there’s no truth to the publication’s report. Amal isn’t disturbed by her husband’s facial hair, and the notion otherwise is ridiculous.
The Enquirer has proven countless times to have zero insight into the couple’s marriage. Late last month, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for wrongly reporting George and Amal would be renewing their vows to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary. The couple celebrated their anniversary with a weekend in New York City, not by tying the knot again.
In July, Gossip Cop called out the magazine for falsely claiming George and Amal’s marriage was in crisis because the actor had a secret love child. Of course, he doesn’t, and that bogus narrative hasn’t been mentioned since. One month before that, the outlet made up a story about George storming out on Amal and taking their twins with him. None of these false scenarios have ever panned out, but the tabloid goes ahead and creates new ones. This latest article involving the actor’s beard might be less dramatic than the divorce allegations, but it’s no more accurate.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
