A new tabloid report claiming George Clooney and Amal Clooney‘s marriage is in crisis because they’re fighting over having more kids is completely untrue. Gossip Cop can set the record straight. Both spouses have already stated they’re done having children.
According to OK!, however, the couple recently got into a major argument over expanding their family. The magazine says the human rights lawyer wants one more baby, but her husband isn’t on board. An alleged insider tells the outlet, “George wooed her into marrying him by claiming he wanted a large family, but now he says that two kids are more than enough. Amal is terribly upset.”
This article is wrong from the very start. Clooney told The Hollywood Reporter last year that he and his wife “never talked” about having kids “until after we were married.” The actor added that he and Amal “didn’t plan” on having children but both had a change of heart “after the wedding.” In that same interview, Amal was asked if she wanted more kids, but the lawyer shook her head and said, “I’m 39. I already had them quite late.”
The tabloid’s supposed source next alleges that Amal’s so-called “jealousy” is also causing a rift in the couple’s marriage. The questionable tipster says the attorney “is constantly cross-examining George about his partying, galpals and road trips with the guys,” adding, “He’s a Hollywood bachelor at heart and she’s a straitlaced lawyer who’s left with the brunt of the work at home.” The seemingly phony source also claims Amal “already had a secret meeting with a divorce lawyer.”
This secondary part of the report is also entirely false. Amal praised her husband for being a devoted father during her speech at his AFI Lifetime Achievement Award ceremony last month. In addition to calling the actor her “great love,” Amal said, “Seeing you with our children Ella and Alexander is the greatest joy in my life. You fill our home with laughter and happiness.”
Conclusion: The tabloid starts its bogus article by contending that the Clooneys are battling over having more babies, but Amal already explained that she gave birth to her twins “quite late” and isn’t planning to get pregnant again. The magazine goes on to say the attorney resents her husband for “partying” while she’s stuck at home “with the brunt of the work,” but Amal indicated in her touching AFI tribute that her “greatest joy” is watching her husband at home with the twins. Gossip Cop has also reached out to a rep for the actor, but Amal’s own words disprove every aspect of OK!‘s article.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
