Seemingly proud of his past run-ins with the law, President Donald Trump has hung up his mugshot in a key White House location: right outside the Oval Office.

The infamous photo, which was taken at the Fulton County Jail in Georgia after Trump turned himself in on Aug. 24, 2023, was spotted hanging in a gold frame while the world leader was meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday.

Dan Scavino, White House deputy chief of staff, shared a video on X of how close the mugshot was to the Oval Office. “HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY,” he wrote in the post. “WELCOME TO THE BEAUTIFUL OVAL OFFICE.”
Trump’s new Presidential portrait noticeably resembles his mugshot.
The mugshot was taken after Donald Trump was charged with one count of violating the Georgia RICO Act, three counts of criminal solicitation, six counts of criminal conspiracy, one count of filing false documents, and two counts of making false statements.
Donald Trump Claimed Georgia Officials ‘Insisted’ on Having the Mugshot Done
At the time, Trump told Fox News Digital that Georgia officials had “insisted” his mugshot be taken. He then stated it was “not a comfortable feeling” to have the photo done, “especially when you’ve done nothing wrong.”
“They insisted on a mugshot, and I agreed to do that,” Trump stated. “This is the only time I’ve ever taken a mugshot.”
“This is all about election interference,” he further explained. “It all comes through Washington and the DOJ and Crooked Joe Biden. Nothing like this has ever happened in our country before.”
The court had set Trump’s bail at $200,000, which he quickly paid and was released.
“It is election interference,” Trump further shared. “We did nothing wrong at all. And we have every right, every single right, to challenge an election that we think is dishonest that we think is very dishonest.”
Trump and more than a dozen others were charged out of the Fulton County probe. Among those involved in the investigation were Trump’s former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows. Trump’s former attorneys, Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, Jenna Ellis, Kenneth Chesebro, Jeff Clark, and John Eastman, were also involved in the investigation.
Since then, President Trump has been re-elected. He ran against former Vice President Kamala Harris after President Biden discontinued his re-election efforts.
