A tabloid cover story published exactly one year ago claimed Brad Pitt was moving back in with Angelina Jolie and their six kids. Gossip Cop debunked the untrue premise 365 days ago, and it obviously never panned out. The estranged spouses aren’t back together in any capacity, let alone living together again.
On September 13, 2017, the cover of OK! read, “Brad Moves Back In After Angie’s Tearful Apology.” The article said the exes were giving their marriage another shot after months of couples therapy. An alleged insider told the outlet that Pitt surprised the kids by arriving early in the morning and “making pancakes in the kitchen” to break the news that the was living with them again. The supposed source added, “They’re settling in, unpacking Brad’s boxes and moving furniture around.”
Immediately after the cover story hit newsstands, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the situation, who told us on the condition of anonymity that it was entirely fabricated. Time has proven that to be the case. As opposed to reconciling, Pitt and Jolie have been engaged in a custody battle over their six kids. Although the situation remains somewhat contentious, it’s been reported that Jolie “remains focused on healing her family” and “continues to support the reconciliation of the children with Brad.” The actress herself, however, has no intention of reconciling with her estranged husband.
Unfortunately, OK! refused to drop its phony storyline after we debunked it. In February, the unreliable tabloid published a cover story claiming that Pitt and Jolie were “calling off their divorce” and renewing their vows. That didn’t happen either. After it became clear that the estranged spouses weren’t reuniting, the magazine finally gave up on its premise, but went on to peddle a new one that was equally false.
This past May, Gossip Cop busted the magazine’s ridiculous cover story about Jennifer Aniston being pregnant with Pitt’s baby. That absurd article made no mention of what happened to the actor’s supposed reconciliation with Jolie. How exactly did Pitt go from renewing his vows with his estranged wife to impregnating his ex-wife in a matter of months?
It’s clear the publication has zero insight into Pitt and Jolie’s divorce, so it instead makes up stories and switches narratives on a whim. Gossip Cop looks back at articles from a year ago to show how the tabloids have little credibility when it comes to reporting celebrity news. OK!‘s cover story from last year is yet another example.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
