Angelina Jolie is not planning a “showdown” with Jennifer Aniston over her (nonexistent) reunion with Brad Pitt, despite a completely fabricated tabloid cover story. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this ridiculous report. We’re told there’s not a truthful aspect to any of it.
Earlier this month, Star wrongly reported that Aniston and Pitt had reunited for a secret trip to Aspen. Gossip Cop debunked the false story as soon as it emerged, but that hasn’t prevented the untrustworthy outlet from publishing a follow-up article about Jolie’s reaction to the supposed rendezvous.
“She went berserk,” a so-called “source” tells the magazine. “Angie has always been jealous of Jen and has suspected for a while that she’s been trying to win Brad back. She’s demanding to meet with Jen in person and get the truth out of her. It’s going to be quite a showdown!” The outlet’s questionable insider further claims Jolie already called her estranged husband and “just railed at him.”
“Angie insinuated that she would spill some major dirt on Brad if he didn’t back off from his relationship with Jen,” adds the seemingly phony source, who goes on to say Jolie might fight for full custody of their six children if he stays in touch with Aniston. The alleged insider also maintains that Aniston will be ready for a fight if Jolie approaches her. “She thinks Angie’s behavior is disgusting, and she’ll have a hard time biting her tongue if provoked.”
The supposed source further insists, “Angelina may have tried to rebrand herself as the poised, regal creature, but make no mistake, she’s just as fiery as she used to be. If she decides to go after Jen, it’s going to be explosive!” Of course, the first major issue with the tabloid’s tale is that Aniston and Pitt never reunited in Aspen, so this entire story is based on a false premise. It appears the tabloid’s “source” is Mr. Roarke because that magazine is living on “Fantasy Island.”
Still, Gossip Cop checked in with sources close to all involved in this tall tale, and we’re assured there’s no validity to any of it. There’s no love triangle or any sort of drama surrounding Pitt, Jolie and Aniston, despite Star‘s insistence on keeping this tired and make-believe narrative going. In fact, as opposed to the tabloid relying on an untraceable “source,” Aniston’s spokesperson exclusively tells us on the record, “It’s all just another fabrication.”
Also, this latest article seems to have been concocted partly due to Aniston and Jolie both attending the Golden Globes earlier this month. The cover of the magazine even features a photoshopped image of the two actresses appearing to be standing side-by-side, along with the tagline “meeting caught on camera,” but the photo was doctored. This whole saga can be chalked up to a soap opera mixed with fan fiction, but it shouldn’t be confused with actual journalism.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
