Amber Heard‘s personal and professional life is often the subject of false tabloids stories. Gossip Cop has debunked many bogus claims about the actress as of late. Here are five recent wrong rumors.
Last month, Gossip Cop busted OK! for falsely claiming that Heard was moving in with Channing Tatum. The magazine said the two grew close while filming 2015’s Magic Mike XXL, but finally got together following the actor’s split from Jenna Dewan earlier this year. There was zero truth to the premise. Not only did Heard’s rep tell us on the record that she never dated her former co-star, but the news emerged earlier this month that Tatum is dating singer Jessie J.
In March, Gossip Cop called out RadarOnline for wrongly reporting that Heard was quitting Hollywood following her failed romances with Johnny Depp and Elon Musk. The outlet contended that the actress was tired of the drama surrounding famous men and she wanted to leave Los Angeles and move back home to Texas. Around the same time the phony story was published, Heard signed on to star in the indie drama Gully. Shortly later, Heard joined the cast of the drama Her Smell. The actress obviously had no intention of ever quitting show business.
Gossip Cop also corrected Woman’s Day in March after the tabloid alleged that Heard’s Aquaman co-star, Nicole Kidman, warned her not to date Sean Penn. The story was concocted after Heard was spotted having dinner with the actor at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles. According to the magazine, Kidman felt Penn was bad news and wanted her co-star to steer clear of him. A spokesperson for the actress, however, assured us she wasn’t meddling in Heard’s personal life.
Speaking of Kidman, OK! falsely claimed last December that Heard was feuding with the actress on the set of Aquaman because she was jealous of her getting more attention from the crew. A production insider told Gossip Cop the story was completely fabricated as soon as it emerged. Time has proven that to be the case. This past April, Heard praised Kidman during an interview at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, calling her “one of the most beautiful, soulful, incredibly kind-hearted women.” The co-stars also shared a big hug on stage while promoting the movie at Comic Con in July.
And finally, Gossip Cop busted the National Enquirer last year for wrongly reporting that Depp was refusing to do interviews for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales because he didn’t want to be asked questions about Heard. But just days after the bogus report was published, Depp appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” to promote the movie. Later that week, Depp was interviewed on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” The actor went on to participate in press junkets around the world in support of the film. The tabloid simply capitalized on the release of one of Depp’s movies to write a story about his divorce from Heard.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
